Before buying protein, you need to be vigilant, as even in some specialized stores you can get a counterfeit, not to mention warehouses or little-known online stores. There are certain signs by which you can easily recognize a fake and protect your body from taking an «unknown» mixture.

As a rule, the main component that is attempted to be mixed into protein is ordinary flour or chalk!

The first thing to pay attention to is the quality and integrity of the packaging. If you are in any way confused by the seams or soldering on the product, do not take it. Protein cans must have a soldered film (quite strong), not damaged! If you plan to buy protein at a lower price, not in specialized stores, then go there first to see what the packaging of the product you need looks like.

Always give preference to already known and recommended brands. If you are persistently offered some «mega powder» that has «just» entered the market, and it's «not expensive», you are being deceived! Now, concerning the protein itself. Several simple tests at home will help you determine the authenticity of the protein.

Checking protein for the presence of protein!

Test №1

Take a teaspoon of dry, undiluted protein and try to chew it! If there's real protein in it, it will soon resemble glue and stick quite strongly to your teeth, gums, and tongue. It will be rather difficult to remove. If there's no protein in the powder, it won't stick in your mouth and will simply turn into a liquid.

Test № 2

In 100 ml of water, with a temperature of 60 - 80 degrees Celsius, place about one tablespoon of powder. If the protein is genuine, it will start to swell immediately after being submerged in water, and within a minute, the entire container will be filled with a uniform mass that resembles cottage cheese. If there is no protein in the mixture, the chalk or flour often used to adulterate sports nutrition will simply make the water cloudy and then settle at the bottom.

Test № 3

Pour a small amount of boiling water over a couple of tablespoons of protein. Genuine protein will immediately coagulate and float in lumps on the surface, and when you try to chew it, it will be rubbery. This is how any biological protein will behave. If the mixture you purchased foams excessively and dissolves completely when exposed to boiling water, you most likely have flour or chalk with dyes, but not protein.

If the "experiments" you conducted on the mixture raise any doubts about the quality, it's better not to consume it, and take care of your health!
