Ring
– a square-shaped sports ground on which boxing bouts are held. The ring has the size of the sides of 4.9 - 6.1 m, each of which is bounded by 3 or 4 ropes. According to the rules of professional boxing, each side of the ring must have the size of 6.5 - 7.3 m. If the side of the ring is bounded by three ropes, they shall be attached to the corner posts at a height of 40, 80 or 130 cm from the floor. If there are four ropes, they are fastened at 40.4, 71.1, 101.6 and 121 cm from the floor. The thickness of the rope is 3 - 5 cm. The ropes are covered with a soft and smooth covering and connected with two tapes 3 - 4 cm wide, at that, the tapes cannot slip on the ropes. The ring is set on a special platform at a height of 91 - 122 cm from the ground. The platform must be of such a size that its edges protrude beyond the line of the ring ropes at least 50 cm.
