Rhythmic gymnastics

A type of sport where different gymnastic and dancing exercises are performed to music without apparatus, or with apparatus (rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon). According to the rules of the Gymnastics Federation, one apparatus (for example, five ribbons or five pairs of clubs) or two apparatus (for example, hoops and balls) are used during a group performance. Athletes compete in all-around, individual and group exercises. Competitions are held on a 13x13 m gymnastics mat. The Olympic program includes a classical all-around of four exercises.
