Pommel horse
– apparatus used in artistic gymnastics. The pommel horse consists of a steel base and a wooden or plastic elongated base, which is covered with a special elastic material to prevent slipping. To perform exercises, two handles are additionally installed on the apparatus from above. The apparatus is designed to be adjustable in height. In men's competitions, the height of the horse is 1.15 m. The height for performing a support jump is 1.35 m for men and 1.25 m for women. According to the rules of the Gymnastics Federation, the length of the horse is 160 cm, the width is 35 cm, the height of the handles is 12 cm, and the distance between the handles is from 40 to 45 cm.
