Stances

- basic or standing (abbreviated - o.s.); feet apart; feet apart wide or narrow, feet apart right; crossed; on the right or left knee; closed, with the feet together, right or left free. By applying the stance on the toes, “on the toes” is added. Any transitions from kneeling, sitting, lying down, etc. to standing on the feet are denoted by the term “stand up”.
